Since it would take a while before Simple Minds came to Gothenburg and - I think - Sweden whatsoeve

When Simple Minds were making their first gigs in Sweden were Errols in Gothenburg one of the stations. Then, 29 October y10 1979, the band was in a development phase. Had come with his debut "Life in a Day", which was clearly Magazine Influenced, the same year, but was also clearly y10 the more experimental "Real To Real Cacophony", which I think came during the tour. The short set it, according to the band indication, the smallest stage ever played on, hit the knock at the Gothenburg audience; Me included. During Errols was a studio that recorded the concert, it is not me, but it is somewhere out there ...
Afterwards, it took me and a few band members Kai Martin & Stick! us left, met trevlige guitarist Charlie Burchill and sat long, talking music, Scotland, Glasgow and Edinburgh, y10 which I visited a few years earlier when I played hockey there.
"Sons and fascination" tour landed at Union, Gothenburg February 1982. We wrote the music for our upcoming second album, which was recorded in October-November, 1981, the band combo albums y10 ("Sister feelings call" counts the set) had a major impact on my songwriting y10 - something most notably in "Pipes, tubes, pipes now." The gig with Simple Minds hit us with force. The intro of the triggered synth that has long stood at before the band attacked the "Love Song", knocked away the feet of us. It was an improbable amazing experience, and from the little dance with a leg on Errols scene to the gym at the Corps of Jim Kerr showed that something big was going on. We chose briskly to do something similar to "red plate" tour starting in late April. There was a musical y10 grand tour, not only because of the simple mind inspiration.
After the Corps gig we greeted understood - Viva had been committed, a little to our chagrin - and we hung out for a while in the lodge. Simple Minde new drummer Kenny Hyslop said that the band name Kai Martin & Stick! was really cool, appreciative of course.
In the summer of 1982 I went with friends to the festival in Karlshamn where the Simple Minds was started with a further development. The group had started working on 'New Gold Dream' (81-82-83-84) "and trumpeted Allen sat Mike Ogletree, a much more easy gameplay drummer, was the participation in the band was short. When the plate is well came later that year he was replaced by much firmer Mel Gaynor, who greatly contributed to Simple Minds increasingly sound forward. While there I met Charlie Burchill, followed up in the hotel room and chilled with incense and beer.
In February 1983 the band visited the Concert Hall in Gothenburg. Again, it was hello after the concert and I remember I was so surprised bassist Derek Forbes soft fingers; I thought he had calluses at least on a fingertip, but no.
It was then a while before the band returned to Gothenburg - although some links argue otherwise, but which I doubt, without being able to verify it - and I think it was in the mid 80's and definitely Scandinavium. I did some extra work for Lars Aldman P3 and had borrowed a strapper y10 for an interview. I do not have any contact press department, slips down to the arena at the same time a bus arrives and more from the tour company walks into the rink. Including me. On stage is Charlie Burchill and sound checks, he sees me and says he comes down to me shortly. Shortly thereafter, a guard who wonder y10 what I'm doing there, but Charlie rescues the situation and said the scene "it's alright, he's my mate." I'm doing an interview then, go to the radio and wonder if it was broadcast the same evening ...
Since it would take a while before Simple Minds came to Gothenburg and - I think - Sweden whatsoever. y10 1989 Stockholm Stadium was the next station, where the band had grown to gargantuan size, and I had not really kept up with.
The 1990s were a dark band even if the occasional flat came during the decade. But in 2006 it was time again for the Gothenburg visit. Radio City had arranged with sponsors y10 and could set the band on stage at Götaplatsen in cooperation with Göteborg & Co during the Culture Festival in August. I walk up the avenue, looking Charlie Burchill standing and sound check, but he is deeply focused on the high stage and do not see my waving. Fortunately, I know one of the people working with the scene and he gives me a hint about when Charlie Burchill leaves the stage for a walk to the hotel. I intercept his path behind the Town Theatre, shouts "Hello Charlie, do you remember me ...?". He looks tired, put his hand behind his ear to hear better, and then I introduce myself, he shines up. I bet entourage and we'll have a beer, which I command him, talking about life; I as a newly divorced, he also, the lack of children and music. A meeting between the men going at the 50. He asks how it goes with the music, I still play and I say that Kai Martin &
