Built in 1977, the Lancia Scorpion (known in Europe as the Montecarlo) is a very unique-looking and typically Italian car in many respects, some of which are not of the desirable kind…
This particular one is not perfect, but for this price and with a bit of manual sprinter labor on the part of its owner (especially on the inside), it could probably be turned into something really special. Moreover, most of these have rusted away since the 70s, so it’s in a very rare shape , and you can imagine that the odds of seeing one go down, the further away from Italy you go – this one is one of just 408 examples sprinter made for North American buyers, out of a total production figure of 8,000. Its engine is the standard one fitted to all US-spec cars, an 81hp Fiat-sourced 1.8-liter four-pot that’s transversally-mounted in the middle of the vehicle. It can easily take a turbo kit, and with it, it should make light work of the car’s low sub-1-ton weight . By Andrei Nedelea
